Friday, September 20th 9:15-10:15am
Put worship into motion with this spiritual- themed yoga class. If you have been hesitant to try yoga because you fear it’s misaligned with your faith, or if you want to deepen your experience and relationship with God, this yoga class is for you.
Class will follow a typical vinyasa flow format, but will include spiritual references. Start the class meditating on a verse from a spiritual text. Discover how the body can become an instrument of worship; opening you up to the divine flow of the Holy Spirit and allowing you to experience the peace and joy that comes from communion with God.
All levels of practitioners are welcome. Yoga mats are available if you don’t have your own.
This is a donation based class. All proceeds go to the Children’s Miracle Network, which helps children receiving care at the Stead Family Children’s Hospital here in Iowa City.
Thursday, September 12th 6:30pm
Join guest instructor, Nil Filiz, on a journey inward to deep relaxation and restoration. If you have never tried restorative yoga, discover a whole new type of yoga that is all about pampering yourself. Restorative yoga uses props, rather than extending muscular effort, to support the body in a pose. This class is all about letting go, gentle stretching, and rejuvenating your body, mind, heart, and soul. No prior yoga experience is required.
Registration prior to class is required. Due to the prop-intense nature of this class, size will be limited to 5 participants. Drop-in fee is $15. Punch cards are also available.
